Sleepless Night and Day in Emergency Room…

Sleepless Night and Day in Emergency Room...

My daughter had a car accident late Sunday night.

So I spent 27 hours in two emergency rooms (our regional hospital has many campus), 17 of those hours in the waiting room and I was awake for 36 hours. I had tons of time to be worried for my daughter and time to think about many things…

Luckily my daughter is fine, no concussion…as for my thinking, I was wondering alot about how much more stressed out I would’ve been if I had to go to work instead of being my own boss.

You know…you spend 2 full working days in the hospital, you then have to sleep so you need at least another working day to recup. What would your boss say if you were off like that for 3 days? Is (s)he comprehensive, does (s)he care? The majority of bosses I had would not be…and in the numeric age would’ve expect (if not ask) that I brought my cell and computer at the hospital and work while I was waiting with my daughter.

I hope this is not your case, but that would’ve been mine. Bosses expect you to be available 24/7 and they don’t reward you if you do. They don’t give you the pat on the back to let you know that they care…they just don’t because they only care about themselves and the work that you’ve done for them in order for them to get promoted…not you. That’s the majority of bosses I had in 30 years working for them…

Sad but true…

On the other hand, while I was busy caring for my daughter, my business was continuing its life and, of course I made sales without even being around. That lifted my spirit because I know that anything can happen and my business just moves on for me!
